Week 92

The Will of God

Sometimes what God wants is so much better and majestic than what we want. I know that's true. Sometimes even our dreams are beneath ourselves, but God doesn't lift us until we are willing to be lifted, when we look up. And even then, He is the one that helps us lift our eyes.

This past week has been a great week! Not successful in the sense of finding people, but we followed the Spirit and saw many miracles.

We felt prompted to knock on one house and then got a referral from a nonmember for her inactive sister. The next day, we taught her mom!

Something I learned this past week was letting God in all the way. It's humbling to think that even our self will to follow God can be a source of pride. We need to let God guide us. I testify that He does just that. I know He loves me and you!

Love you all!

Week 91

The Power of Prayer is real

I testify that God hears prayers.

This past Saturday was an interesting one. We met with someone and then their dad came halfway through and was super angry with us and made his son come home. We then had some okay streeting around town (meeting people right on the street to see if they want to hear the message of Christ and His gospel). We then were in the park and prayed for help. We prayed knowing that even though the day seemed not that great, we had a great privilege to be missionaries and to serve Jesus Christ. We prayed for guidance in that prayer and we couldn't even finish it when a guy that we talked to earlier that day interrupted us and then started talking. We ended up giving a Book of Mormon and finding a very interested 20yr old. Talked to a Vietnamese guy that we might talk to next Sunday. And then afterwards talked to this inactive member from Hawaii that might come to our ping pong activity. God is real!

We had several of those experiences this past week and the amount of potentials that we have been finding has been great. God really is leading His work. I know it is not mine or Elder Noda's or even my mission president's. This is Christ's work and because of Him we can live and love and participate in the greatest work on Earth! The gathering of Israel on both sides of the veil!

Things are hard, we doubt ourselves, mess up. But our Savior overcame all of that. He overcame all of your and mine mistakes. Trust in Him!

I'm praying for you all! Love ya!

Week 90

God's Hand and Happy Mother's Day!

Take time to look for God's hand. And that might just be taking time to think of your blessings!

Some miracles
- Made contact with a Nepali family that might want to hear our message about Eternal families
- Found a man in the park. Gave him a Book of Mormon and set up a return appointment for this next week!
- Found another potential who would like to come to church. He's only 24!
- We gave a blessing which was a great experience
- We felt prompted to go to a certain member's house and her inactive daughter was there so we were able to give a lesson at a perfect time. We talked about the blessings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are so blessed here in Uwajima. And we have been teaching a lot for a small area. Non-members, member's, everybody! It has been so awesome to work with Elder Noda so far. Hard to believe that May is basically halfway done!

Lastly, Happy Mother's Day to all of you great mothers and women out there. Thanks for your incredible example to me and to everyone else!

Alma 56:48
"And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it."

Such a great scripture. And remember to tell your mom how much you appreciate her, not just on Mother's Day!

Love,
Elder Robertson
