God's Promises
"13 And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage.
14 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.
15 And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord." -Mosiah 24
Elder Noda and I had a great week this past week. Lots of prayers and hardships and trying our best. And through it all God fulfilled His covenants not just to me, but to His children that we have the privilege to serve.
Miracles
- We had a great lesson with a sister in the branch and we reviewed our temple covenants together which was a great experience.
- Visit an inactive member and invite him back to church!
- Went to a festival for a meal time and said hi to a bunch of people!
And we have a new Mission President!
It's President and Sister Sano! They are so fun and even though it's only for 3 weeks I'm so excited to be able to meet them! We have a "Meet Sano Kaicho" this Friday which should be great! It'll be another 10 hours total of trains, but Elder Noda and I are very excited!
My brother Cal is also leaving on a mission in 2 weeks, 4 days before I'm back in VA! But I will be able to still call him on Sunday nights which will be great. I'm very excited for him and all that he will do!
And a interesting source of comfort, but I'm not sad or rushed with ending my mission. I'm simply just moving on. I learned a lot about my Savior Jesus Christ, how to live, how to receive revelation, and I want to keep living that way! It's easier to write than done, but I've been doing :). It's easier to keep a muscle than to lose it and to try to bring it back.
And I want to testify that even if you don't feel God is there, I have felt not just that he is there, but Him reaching out to me! So I know He will reach out to you. As we put faith in Him and focus on Him, our trials and blessings don't affect that faith, but rather strength it.
I testify that Christ lives! He is our Savior. I know that through Him, we truly can change. I know He's changed me.
Love you everyone!
Elder Robertson
